Dr. Chavali Vyaghreswarudu was born in a doctors family in Rajahmundry, a place famous for Vedic pandits and poets. His father was an Ayurvedic doctor . He developed interest in orthopaedic while he was working with Dr. M.G. Kini. Later he was trained by Dr. V.R. Thyamunnaswamy an eminent orthopaedic Surgeon.
He was the first person to start a full fledged orthopaedic Department and first Professor of orthopaedic in Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam,In 1948 while he was working in Stanley Hospital he was deputed to Andaman and Nicobar islands when there was Polio epidemic. On seeing the plight of Polio victims he developed interest in the rehabilitation of the Polio patients. He was awarded Fellowship to under go training in rehabilitation of Polio victims at USA.
He was instrumental in starting Rani Chandramani Devi Hospital in 1965. He started camp Operations for Polio victims in 1977 and conducted nearly 400 camps up to 2nd October 1992. He always worked with passion and zeal with an aim to make the polio patients not to depend on wheel chair, Calipers or Crutches.
He was founder of Balaji Institute for the Physically Handicapped at Tirupathi. Dr. Vyaghreswarudu instituted medals in his name for the best paper in A.P. Chapter of IOA, IMA Visakhapatnam, IOA Chapter Tamilanadu and Medals for meritorious students in MS (Ortho).
He was President of IOA from 1970 to 1972, President IMA of A.P. for 1977 and 1978, and founder President of IOA Chapter of Andhra Pradesh in 1968.IOA conferred Fellowship on him for this meritorious service to the Association and also for his services to the Physically Handicapped persons in 1978 at the Madurai Conference. He conducted IOA meetings 1971, 1990 and 1990 IOA conference. He was conferred the honorary doctorate degree by the Andhra University for his valuable service to Polio victims.

References 1. Biography in The Hindu.Dr. G. Ethirajulu was born on March 26th 1924. He had his early education at Guntur. He was a student of Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam and graduated in 1947 as best outgoing student. He won Dr. Swaminathan medal in Anatomy in 1944, Vidyavathi Devi medal in Midwifery and Dr. Rangachari medal in Surgery and Dr. Anderson medal for Best Outgoing Student in 1947.He was the first person to obtain Master of Surgery in orthopaedic from Andhra University in 1954.
He joined the Government service as an Assistant Surgeon in 1948. He worked as Tutor in Surgery at the Stanley Medical College, Madras and as an assistant to Dr. Nambiar and Dr. Raghavachari. After the separation of the Andhra State he worked as Tutor in Surgery at Andhra Medical College from 1950 to 54. He was deputed to undergo training under Prof. Thayamunna Swamy at Madras for six months. Later he was promoted as Lecturer and Head of the Dept. Of orthopaedic and worked in at Guntur Medical College, Guntur in that capacity from 1955 to 1960.
He was deputed to U.S.A. for higher studies under T.C.M. Fellowship and he volunteered to serve Armed Forces in National Emergency. He worked as the Advisor in orthopaedic for Armed Forces from 1963 to 1965 in various cadres from Captain to Colonel in a shortest period of two years. He worked as a Commandant Officer of Military Hospital, Kirkee and Delhi.After serving the Army he resumed as Professor of orthopaedic at Guntur Medical College. Later he worked as Professor of orthopaedic at Osmania Medical College from 1974-77. He was promoted as Principal in the upgraded post as Additional Director of Medical Services, Guntur Medical College and later he opted for voluntary retirement from 30th October 1978.
He was a member of various Organisations like I.M.A., Indian orthopaedic Association and Association of Surgeons of India and acted twice as a President of the A.P. Chapter of Indian orthopaedic Association. He was the President of the Indian Medical Association, Guntur Branch. He had his last breath on 22nd August 1992.
Prof.Dr.Vedula satyanarayana murthy was born on 15-2-1951 at kottapeta,east godavari district. He was the 4th son of sri venkata rao garu and smt.laxmi kantamma garu.His primary schooling was at kottapeta and he admitted in MBBS at Andhra medical college,vizag in 1967,post graduation in orthopaedics at A.M.C.vizag.He joined as asst.prof of orthopaedics at K.M.C.wgl in 1978 and was promoted as professor of orthopaedics in 1995.He is a selfless,dedicated,commited orthopaedic surgeon.he used to work in the hospital round the clock.
He trained so many undergraduate students and post graduate students.he is a perfect disciplinarian and true gentleman to the core.He conducted various polio surgeries,tumor surgeries apart from trauma during his service.He introduced THR to MGM hospital warangal.he is the person who started Meyers muscle pedicle grafting procedure and produced number of papers in both state and national conferences.He is a great social worker invoved in R.S.S activities in the town.He is the first person in the state to do titanium prosthetic hip replacement&pelvic surgery.He used to attend all national and state conferences and national CMEs at various places and he was awarded the best participant award at indore national cme.
In 2001 ,he was diagnosed with primary hepatocellular carcinoma for which he underwent hepatic transplantation at England.
After returning from england ,he resumed his services and conducted all major orthopaedic surgeries as before.
He expired on 30-03-2003 with pulmonary secondaries.
The students and desciples of Dr.VSN MURTHY garu are conducting CME since 2004 till date and this happens to be IX cme.
In kmc the students are organizing football tournments in his name,they conducting blood donation camps in the name of the great soul.
