Message From Chairperson

“Our vision is to create a foundation that will receive donations from our classmates, allowing us to contribute annually to causes that matter to us. This approach will give us control over the causes we support and ensure that our contributions have a lasting effect. We plan to start with an initial corpus and then continue to grow it over time through additional contributions. The foundation will be governed by us, and decisions about which causes to support will be made collectively. Everyone will have the opportunity to propose and advocate for causes related to OMC, OGH, and affiliated hospitals, with final selections made by consensus. We will operate with clear guidelines on how much of the corpus and its earnings can be donated each year. All funds donated to the foundation will remain within it, and the trustees will follow established guidelines.
We believe this initiative will inspire widespread participation and help us work together to support our beloved Alma Mater in meaningful ways.
Another aspect that we wish to emphasise is the limited availability of Indian literature on various endocrine disorders, and provide impetus to generate nation-wide evidence on endocrine pathologies. This will be one of our strengths in the global arena and influence our clinical practice. The Society shall also plan to develop centres of excellence across the country under the banner of the Society in various types of endocrinological disorders.
While we understand that some of this work has started without the full involvement of everyone, I hope you can appreciate that a certain amount of groundwork was necessary to get the project up and running. We have personally reached out to several classmates and received commitments from some to join this initiative. Soon, we will share the list of initial members as part of our effort to keep the process transparent The current proposal is to establish a committee of members (Trustees) from India and abroad. The trust members will have a two-year term, with members rotating periodically.
I invite you to all join hands in this ambitious and purposeful endeavor of OMC Class of 1985.”
